New Valor City is under the protection of everyone’s favorite private investigator and consulting detective, Fisticuffs Jones, the man with the left hook! He’s joined in his exploits in justice by Emily Innocenti, his trusty but perpetually agitated assistant. Together they use their wits and Fisticuffs’ mitts to challenge the forces of crime!

Fisticuffs Jones: The Man with the Left Hook is a scripted podcast series, written in the style of old timey radio programs but starring a 1970s blaxploitation expy. The podcast was created by Jason S. Leverett and Arielle Leverett and is based on the short play, Fisticuffs Jones and the Murder at Leghorn Manor (written by Jason and originally performed for Western Michigan University’s New Play Project in 2006). The pilot episode features the vocal talents of Stephen Wilkes as “Fisticuffs Jones,” Elisabeth Del Toro as “Emily Innocenti,” and Chris Marks as “The Narrator.”

Main Characters

Fisticuffs Jones

The Man with the Left Hook, Fisticuffs Jones makes his living as a private investigator, and while his work mostly consists of stalking and photographing cheating spouses, he also works as a consulting detective for the New Valor City police department. Unpredictable and eccentric, at best Fisticuffs is a hostile, egocentric loudmouth but at worst may be completely off his rocker. However, crazy or not, he is rarely wrong and has an excellent case record.

Emily Innocenti

Formerly a maid working for a wealthy family, she was given a job as Fisticuffs’ assistant after he solved a murder at Leghorn Manor. Functionally the opposite of her boss, levelheaded and straight forward, Emily has a mysterious background and her own quirks; she seems aware that they are in a podcast. That’s weird.

The Narrator

The teller of our tales. Rumor has it that they are a social scientist of some sort, but I doubt we’ll be getting into that in this show.
